Tea or Coffee? – Free Template for your Mug Sublimation Designs

Go on. Grab yourself a brew. And take a look at some free stuff I have for you.

I am not going to bore you with a “How to video” as a result, there are plenty of good videos on how to sublimate a mug.

If you do a search on YouTube, you will find plenty of tutorials that will suit your style of learning. Additionally, one of the things I struggled with the most was finding a decent mug template to help get me started on my sublimation journey. However, the ones I did manage to find required that you had to pay for them or sign up to some newsletter or subscription service.

Below, you will find my template that I have designed and used for my mugs. Furthermore, I am making it FREE to download and keep. No need to purchase or sign up to a newsletter that will spam your inbox. It is 100% free to download.

This file is for an 11 oz mug with a print area size of 95 x 210 mm.

As this is a PDF file, you should be able to import it into any design software If you are having issues with it please do get in touch.

For my press, the “Safe zone” area is best to keep your design in. Most of my designs sit within this area and it ensures the design gets even pressure and heat across it. Make sure any text you have stays within this area.

The light blue area indicates the very edge of the press area. Additionally, this area I have used on mugs like the customisable Intellivision mug. Furthermore, I adjust how the mug sits in the press to make sure all areas are getting an equal amount of pressure from the heat.

First of all, how you print onto the surface will affect it as well. Additionally, it could be that your mug press covers a larger or smaller area compared to mine. Furthermore, if you decide to use a sublimation or tunnel oven, it will also affect the print size available to you.

ALWAYS do some test runs. In addition, have a couple of spare mugs on hand to practice on. Moreover, it’s always handy to have them around just in case.

In conclusion, I hope this template will help you get off on a good start in your sublimating journey. As a result, it will help build your own library of templates that suit your style and the way you work.

Is there anything else you would like me to add to free downloads? Is there something specific you would like me to discuss or cover? Or would you like a tutorial?
